Substitute Teachers - Elementary and Middle School

Substitute Teacher

District 146 is seeking a professional Illinois educator as a substitute teacher. In most cases, the classroom teacher will leave instructions and/or lesson plans for the day and these are expected to be followed. This position is limited to 1199 hours per school year, 7.5 hours per day which includes a half-hour unpaid lunch.

Qualifications and experience:
Valid Illinois professional educator license preferred. Will consider an experienced candidate with a substitute license. Must have experience working in a classroom setting. Must be able to demonstrate effective classroom and time management. Must have an understanding of the elements of middle school and elementary school education. Must have a passion for teaching children and helping them to achieve their best.

Must be able to work with staff, students and parents from a wide range of backgrounds. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

This is an at-will position and an offer of employment is not a contract for continued employment from year to year. The employment relationship can be discontinued at any time.
