Farnsworth Group is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to plan, design, and manage various civil engineering projects, including water/wastewater/stormwater and transportation projects for local and government agencies.
Posting Locations: Tinley Park, IL; or St. Louis, MO
- Plan, design, complete and manage a variety of municipal and some private owner driven civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and develop construction, design documents and plans.
- Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and consultants.
- Occasional project, city staff and board meetings.
- Communicate planning objectives for clients current and future projects.
- Prepare project proposals. Assist with business development efforts and development of projects.
- Interaction with IDOT, IEPA, County, MWRD, and understanding of project submittals.
- Team leader and mentoring younger engineers.
- Manage, support, and build relationships with clients and agencies.
- Conduct project field observation and condition assessments.
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
- 8 – 15 years of related civil engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or actively seeking licensure.
- Certified Floodplain Manager a plus.
- Federal, State, local regulatory authorities, IDOT experience.
- Experience working with municipal and private clients.
- IDOT – MFT project experience a plus.
- Sanitary sewer, water line and storm water management design experience a plus.
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Geo Pak, SS4, Micro Station or Open Roads experience.
- Team experience with multiple ongoing projects.
- Contract development skills.
- Construction engineering and observation knowledge.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
