As a Product & Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in product innovation and process improvement, furthering both your professional growth and the company's technical leadership in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities:- Act as the subject matter expert for product and process engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with acoustics, R&D, and Corporate Engineering to develop and recommend BOMs and processes for RFQs.
- Lead trials and setup for BOM and process development in partnership with cross-functional teams from RFQ to SOP.
- Oversee product and process validation activities to ensure efficient production launches and meet customer requirements at optimal cost.
- Update and maintain product and process data in the PLM system, including BOMs, process parameters, tooling, and equipment specs.
- Support operations with process design, PFMEA, equipment specification, and capital expenditure planning throughout project phases.
- Manage IMDS implementation and ongoing updates for assigned programs.
- Drive cost reduction activities by identifying and implementing value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) opportunities.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in product or process engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
- Experience with product development, manufacturing equipment, and production processes.
- Proficiency in BOM management and PLM systems.
- Ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and design software.
- Knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, physics, and laboratory practices.
Skills:
- Experience working with acoustics or R&D within the automotive sector.
- Prior involvement with process layout design, PFMEA, and capex planning.
- Familiarity with IMDS implementation for automotive programs.
- Strong project leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated success in delivering cost reduction or VA/VE initiatives.
