ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Therapist provides trauma-informed individual and group counseling to adult survivors and child witnesses of domestic violence, in both shelter and offsite settings. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on comprehensive support, including prevention, assessment, advocacy, referral, and ongoing therapeutic services.

We serve thousands of individuals annually across the south suburban Chicago area, offering a comprehensive range of support services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Client Services
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments for adults and children affected by domestic violence.
  • Develop and regularly update individualized service plans and safety plans.
  • Provide weekly individual, family, and group counseling using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
  • Facilitate psycho educational and therapeutic support groups.
  • Deliver domestic violence education to clients.
  • Offer crisis intervention as needed & collaborate with other professionals as needed.
Administrative & Compliance
  • Complete and submit accurate documentation within required time frames.
  • Maintain compliance with CCSS policies, funder guidelines, and licensing standards.
  • Update client master lists and ensure files meet internal and external audit standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings,, aftercare services and PAIP victim outreach as assigned.
  • Contribute to CCSS’s 40-hour domestic violence training program when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSW-Social Work / MA/MS Counseling
  • Clinical Psych or related field
  • LSW/LCSW eligible / LPC/LCPC Eligible
  • Trauma-Informed Therapy / DV/IVP advocacy/therapy
