Village of Tinley Park, Systems Administrator
The Village of Tinley Park is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.
Responsibilities- Implement and project manage information management systems by working with IT management to identify and analyze departments’ information management system requirements.
- Resolve questions of program intent, data input and output requirements, and coordinate and direct user and hardware and software vendors in development or correction of programs; assist in testing of new and modified programs.
- Develop and document procedures for operations and monitor hardware and software processes and/or failures.
- Install, repair, maintain, and integrate servers, computer components, hardware, software, cable modems/Internet link, cabling, routers, and monitors; ensure Village compliance with software licensing provisions and copyright laws; troubleshoot and debug programs.
- Coordinate hardware and software maintenance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance, and provide information to system users; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action.
- Run computer batch jobs and schedules; provide end-user support and technical consultation to Village departments; perform network system backup and data recovery; update virus protection; research and evaluate PC software and hardware; stay abreast of new applications and management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the information technology field, preferably in server administration, operations, or security administration.
Compensation: $83,374 – $118,808 DOQ plus a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision benefits, employer-paid life insurance and other ancillary benefit options. Retirement benefits through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) are provided with the option to participate in a 457(b) deferred compensation plan. In addition, paid holiday, vacation, personal, and sick days are provided.
