Non-CDL Bus Mechanic

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

• Performs minor and major repair of all company vehicles and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance procedures on company vehicles and equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
• May be called upon to drive and assist in a dispatch capacity.
• May operate a computer which diagnoses and monitors mechanical equipment and tracking systems, and use online learning systems available to us from manufacturers.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Assists with the routine maintenance of buildings; repairs lights, paints building structures, keeps facilities clean and removes trash.
• Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures and repairs.
• Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
• May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of responsible experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skilled in the use of hand and pneumatic tools. Pass test given by Maintenance Director.

• Bus Maintenance expertise
• Familiarity with different bus manufactures
• Experience with DOT and FTA Regulations
