Maintenance Superintendent – Rendering, Wastewater & Hides

Role Overview Led maintenance operations across rendering, wastewater treatment, grease recovery, and hides processing. Ensured all equipment and systems operated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with internal policies and environmental regulations. Provided hands-on leadership and technical direction to maintenance teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervised maintenance teams supporting Rendering, Wastewater Treatment, and Hides operations.
  • Developed and executed preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Troubleshot and coordinated repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and wastewater systems.
  • Managed rebuilds, system upgrades, and major maintenance projects, including contractor oversight.
  • Ensured compliance with environmental and wastewater regulations; prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborated with production and environmental teams to support operational goals and resolve system issues.
  • Drove continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in rendering or similar high-load industrial environments, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and wastewater systems.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance requirements and wastewater regulations.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
