Manager, Facilities & Equipment MaintenanceThe Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of the organization's building, infrastructure, utilities, equipment and related items. Ensures organizations goals are met by having facilities and manufacturing machinery are in working condition. The ideal candidate will understand mechanical, electrical, controls and technical work; have excellent leadership and supervisory skills and will manage and oversee all daily maintenance activities including delegation of tasks, tracking performance, and directing the personnel of all repairs.
Whatyou will do
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians to ensure efficient facility operations.
- Perform and oversee routine and complex maintenance, repairs, and equipment modifications promptly.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
- Forecast, manage, and monitor the facilities department budget throughout the fiscal year.
- Negotiate and manage contracts for third‑party services, including cleaning, waste removal, and security.
- Coordinate with department heads to complete repairs and minimize production downtime.
- Ensure vendor work is accurately billed and remains within budget constraints.
- Plan and execute facility improvement projects from concept through completion.
- Document all maintenance activities in accordance with SOPs and cGMP regulations.
- Maintain inventory and organization of parts, tools, and the maintenance workspace.
- Create and update SOPs to reflect current practices and regulatory standards.
- High School Diploma – High school diploma required
- Minimum 5 years of experience – Bachelor's degree required
- Bachelor's Degree – Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory / leadership of a team – preferred
- Experience in the Pharmaceuticals or related industry – preferred
- Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – preferred
- Experience with Automation, PLC's, SCADA, Controls, and Vision systems – preferred
- Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing and basic chemical safety procedures – preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer Savvy, ability to effectively utilize productivity tools including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, Sharepoint, etc…
- Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast‑paced, deadline driven work environment
- Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution‑focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
- Demonstrated ability in preventive maintenance, TPM, capital project development, cost estimation and management
- Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
- Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
- Familiarity of standard laboratory practices
- Familiar with Environmental Health and Safety regulations

Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
