Start your day with purpose as a Custodial Worker 1 at the Department of Human Services. This role will give you the chance to support Torrance State Hospital by keeping patient areas safe and welcoming. This role focuses on routine manual labor that supports the overall housekeeping needs of the hospital. It centers on maintaining clean, safe, and orderly conditions throughout patient and staff areas. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- General Cleaning: Clean restrooms, dorms, hallways, offices, activity spaces, dining areas, and other patient occupied locations
- Floor Care: Strip, wax, and maintain floors of all types as needed throughout the year
- High-Level Tasks: Clean walls, windows, screens, lights, curtains, blinds, ceilings, and vents using ladders and housekeeping equipment
- Outdoor Upkeep: Maintain entryways, gazebos, and outdoor areas by sweeping and removing garbage
- Linen Duties: Unpack and distribute linens to assigned areas
- Daily Documentation: Record completion of daily tasks and responsibilities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch, including rotating weekends and holidays, with days off during the week.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
