Overview
Assistant Maintenance Supervisor
Responsibilities- Directly oversees Storeroom Keeper and Janitors
- Manage storeroom: activities, inventory/parts
- Resolve blocked invoices issues, problem invoice (PINs)
- Investigate and analyze new sources of supply and comply with environmental regulations such as chemical purchases, while maintaining good vendor relationships
- Compile reports & statistics related to key performance measures for the maintenance department, the planning process for maintenance projects and lead various EHS initiatives related to maintenance & environmental compliance under the direction of the facility Maintenance Manager/Supervisor
- Manage the maintenance budget for the facility including running and reviewing SAP reports and maintaining a spreadsheet of YTD expenditures
- Utilize systems, including KIWI and SAP, to track maintenance key performance measures, including mechanical/electrical downtime, maintenance reliability indices, maintenance breakdowns, etc.
- Manage the work order system and track work orders through completion. Compile a report related to work order efficiency for the leadership team at the facility
- Participate in a weekly maintenance priority meeting with the maintenance and production leadership team to review open notifications and work order backlog; plan and prioritize projects for the next 7 days and garner leadership support
- Work with the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor on planning maintenance projects including scheduling personnel, maintaining project budget, accessing machine manuals, ensuring needed parts are in inventory, coordinating with production to schedule time, and ensuring work orders are in the system, updated and completed
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and local leadership to schedule predictive/preventative maintenance activities to keep all equipment in good working order
- Lead Environmental Health & Safety initiatives under direction of the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor including: air permitting, storm water compliance, HAZMAT, waste water compliance, roof maintenance, infrared inspections, compressed air management, cooling tower/chiller, air handlers, fire & safety system, inspections, contractor training, employee training, electrical, hot work, etc.
- Oversee inventory/parts management of the facility’s storeroom, including maintenance of inventory in the SAP system, ensuring proper inventory levels, and storeroom organization
- Collaborate with Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and machine champions to develop kitting processes for use throughout the manufacturing facility
- Manage the Machine Champion Process, including monthly reviews with machine champions on machine condition monitoring routes and backlog work orders; ensure champions have access to and properly utilize FFF information; review monthly machine center metrics with champions, including kit & deliver opportunities and maintenance successes
- Assist Maintenance Manager as needed in the development and management of capital projects in the ePAD system
- Fills in for maintenance manager as needed to manage the entire facility maintenance department and may be assigned direct supervisory responsibility for a shift or team of maintenance hourly technicians
- Solid computer/system skill set is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Prior experience utilizing SAP, KIWI and/or ePAD is highly preferred
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience and/or demonstrated situational leadership skills is required
- Prior mechanical, electrical and/or maintenance troubleshooting experience is required. Corrugated experience is highly preferred
- Prior experience with predictive/preventative maintenance programs, inventory and capital project planning is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively is required
