Under the direct supervision of the Facility Maintenance Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing assigned projects and tasks that support the cost-effective operation, care, preventive maintenance, and long-term preservation of the physical assets of Central Valley Training Center, Inc. properties, and for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and appearance of an assigned region of facilities.
Responsibilities- Buff and polish floors to maintain appearance.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
- Keep the area around dumpsters free of loose debris.
- Perform minor repairs on light plumbing and electrical.
- Perform minor drywall repairs.
- Replace light bulbs and other fixtures as needed.
- Replace locks and doorknobs as needed.
- Maintain and service cleaning equipment and tools; ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report malfunctions.
- Ensure walkways and entrances are clear and safe.
- Assure landscaping is completed to high expectations.
- Pressure wash exterior surfaces.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Meet with vendors and oversee their work to completion.
- Distribute materials and supplies using a hand truck.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in facility maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Clear and timely communication with others.
- Follow written and verbal directions.
- Present information effectively and accurately.
- Listen to others, ask clarifying questions, and respond to questions.
- Written work is thorough and accurate; materials are timely and user-friendly.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of basic repair techniques and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Willingness to travel within specified region (up to 30% of time).
Must be willing to travel within the state of California up to 30% of the time. The employee must sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, climb, run, kneel; use hands to finger controls; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to operate a motor vehicle and travel to various locations.

- Must be physically and mentally fit to work with clients who may be potentially dangerous.
- Must be willing to complete a health screening, including drug screen and TB test.
- Must meet state personnel licensing standards.
