Sorter

The Pallet Sorter position focuses on sorting pallets from mixed stacked, into various categories based on size, quality, and condition. Pallets will turn from mixed into ready for shipment to a customer, or to be further repaired.

Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance record.

Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment with daily deadlines and goals.

Demonstrate ability and willingness to effectively complete variety of repetitive and high urgency activities at the same time with minimal supervision

Demonstrate ability and willingness to work with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation, proactively addressing problems and avoiding crisis whenever possible.

Pull garbage, cardboard, stickers and any other debris from off any RFU pallets.

All RFU pallets will not have any exposed nails or broken boards.

Cardboard to be stacked onto a block pallet throughout the day and at the end of shift.

End of shift; clean area, cardboard, garbage into containers, wood scrap into containers, tools back to tool crib Loaner tools will be provided at no cost, you will be responsible to maintain the tools.

Some experience in construction and/or related fields.

Ability to operate electrical and pneumatic power tools and hand tools.

Basic Math skills

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying and flipping of 75 to 85 pound pallets.

Ability of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day).Able to twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.

Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds as needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
