Scion Staffing has been engaged to search for a Maintenance Service Manager on behalf of our client in Macomb County
. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced multifamily maintenance professional who enjoys leading a team while remaining hands‑on with property maintenance operations. The Maintenance Service Manager plays a critical role in preserving the physical assets of the community, ensuring exceptional resident service, and maintaining a safe, attractive living environment.
As the Maintenance Service Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance operations for a multifamily residential community while leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians, groundskeepers, housekeepers, and custodial staff. You’ll assign and monitor service requests, manage apartment turns, coordinate preventative maintenance programs, conduct inspections, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and pool maintenance. You’ll also manage vendor relationships, oversee emergency maintenance and on‑call responsibilities, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and partner with community management to deliver an outstanding resident experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and supervise the onsite maintenance team.
- Manage service requests, preventative maintenance, and apartment turnovers.
- Perform and oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance repairs.
- Oversee pool maintenance, chemical balancing, and required documentation.
- Conduct building inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Coordinate emergency maintenance and participate in the on‑call rotation.
- Foster a resident‑first service culture by delivering timely, professional maintenance support.
- 3+ years of multifamily maintenance experience.
- 1+ years of maintenance supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- EPA Type I & II or Universal HVAC Certification required.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required.
- Strong hands‑on experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, carpentry, and pool systems.
The organization offers a competitive salary range of $62,000–$68,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
