Job Description & How to Apply Below

Upper Fairfield County, CT | Direct Hire | 1st Shift | Competitive Pay

Are you the person who sees a problem coming before it becomes downtime? We want to talk to you. We are recruiting for a hands-on manufacturing professional to take ownership of facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, vendor coordination and improvement projects within a precision manufacturing environment. This is not a traditional desk-based Facilities Manager role - and it is not primarily a CNC repair position.

The priority is ownership: know the facility, stay ahead of maintenance needs, troubleshoot intelligently, coordinate the right resources and make sure the work gets done correctly.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own and drive preventive maintenance across the manufacturing facility, equipment and building systems.
  • Proactively walk the facility, identify developing issues and address needs before they impact production.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and facility problems at a practical level and determine the appropriate next step.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors for CNC service, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and specialized repairs.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, service needs and facility projects from identification through completion.
  • Perform smaller hands-on repairs and maintenance tasks when appropriate.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for facility, equipment and infrastructure needs across the operation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Manufacturing, industrial facilities, plant maintenance or hands-on facilities/project management experience.
  • Strong preventive maintenance knowledge and a proactive - not reactive - maintenance mindset.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.
  • Familiarity with CNC or manufacturing equipment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general building systems.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, service providers and facility projects.
  • Ability to independently prioritize needs, organize schedules and follow projects through to completion.
  • High level of ownership, accountability and comfort operating as the primary facility resource.
THE RIGHT FIT

You do not need to personally be the expert who performs every specialized repair. You do need enough technical knowledge to recognize what is wrong, understand what needs to happen, bring in the right resource and ensure the issue is resolved. This is an excellent fit for a mechanically inclined, jack-of-all-trades manufacturing professional who likes being accountable for the entire operation.

If you take pride in keeping a manufacturing facility running smoothly - and prefer preventing problems instead of waiting for them to happen - we would like to hear from you.
