About the Position:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our esteemed environmental services team. The Floor Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of various floor surfaces within our facilities. This position requires a commitment to excellence in service delivery and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving flooring-related issues. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of different flooring materials and the appropriate cleaning methods and chemicals required to care for them.

As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all floor types - including tile, carpet, vinyl, and more - are properly cleaned, maintained, and restored to the highest standards. In addition to routine cleaning and maintenance, you will also be expected to handle specialized tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and stain removal. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly clean and maintain all types of floor surfaces including tiles, carpets, and vinyl.
  • Conduct routine inspections of flooring to identify wear, damage, or necessary maintenance.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning equipment and techniques to ensure optimal cleaning results.
  • Use equipment like buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, and carpet extractors for tasks such as stripping, buffing, scrubbing, and shampooing.
  • Perform specialized floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, and buffing.
  • Apply protective finishes like wax to hard-surface floors and perform regular maintenance to keep them in good condition.
  • Perform spot cleaning, bonnet cleaning, and deep cleaning (extraction) on carpets.
  • Implement safety procedures to manage hazardous materials and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform routine operational maintenance on all cleaning equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in floor care and maintenance, ideally within an environmental services context, or 1 year or more within the last 5 years.
  • Knowledge of various flooring materials and appropriate cleaning techniques and chemicals.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service delivery.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to measure, cut, and install with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical work all day.
  • Company vehicle provided while on the clock.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the main office.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Clean and valid AZ drivers license for the last 5 years.
  • No at fault accidents, suspensions, or major moving violations.
  • Verifiable work experience of one (1) year or more within the last 5 years.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must pass a drug screen
