Facilities Technician – Full Time

Summary of

Job Description:

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the school facilities daily operations and needs. The Coordinator is directly responsible for maintaining the appearance of the buildings and grounds of the property, ensuring optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and elevators in order to provide the safest and healthiest environment for all Leman scholars and staff.

The Coordinator serves as the main point of contact for all facility‑related services and issues, managing outside vendors and contractors, and performing regular maintenance and cleaning services as the campus requires.

Line of Authority / Reports To
:
The Facilities Coordinator reports directly to the Site Principal to provide services required for the administration of the school and to assure smooth, efficient campus operations.

Works With
:
Vice Principal, Principal, Head of School’s, Central Office, Faculty, Office Staff, Department Heads, Families and Scholars, and vendors who provide services to the school.

Job Goal
:
To provide a safe and effective environment for Scholars, staff, and the community.

Qualifications /

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
  • DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
  • First Aid/CPR Certifications.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs.
  • Background in maintenance or facilities work preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues across mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems.
  • Moderate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet research.
  • Mechanical proficiency in drywall repair, basic plumbing/electrical, painting, and floor finishing/waxing.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of purchasing, supplies, grounds‑keeping, and preventative maintenance.
  • Professional operation of office equipment.
  • Strong commitment to promoting health and safety.
Duties and Areas of Responsibility
  • Ensure basic facility requirements such as hygiene, water, electricity, and air conditioning are in good working order.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for scholars and staff, complying with all applicable safety, health, and childcare regulations.
  • Perform general maintenance and preventative care of campus buildings, outdoor areas, and communal spaces.
  • Inspect and maintain accurate records of equipment and systems.
  • Liaise with and manage outside vendors for supplies, grounds‑keeping, and regular services.
  • Track and prepare for all required facilities inspections (e.g., health department, DES, fire/safety, wastewater).
  • Train staff on use of facility equipment such as lights, thermostats, and door alarms.
  • Support staff and scholars in special activities and classroom preparations.
  • Inventory, stock, and order custodial and maintenance supplies.
  • Identify long‑term or significant facility issues, communicating with principals and business office for resolution.
  • Provide general on‑site assistance as needed.
  • Accept additional duties as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, families, and community organizations.
