• Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous dishwashing, janitorial, custodial, kitchen, or cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Ability to follow sanitation, food safety, and cleaning procedures
• Basic understanding of safe chemical usage and cleaning equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with staff, volunteers, guests, and leadership
• Must maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to solve practical problems and use de-escalation techniques when needed

• Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Frequent exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, kitchen equipment, and wet floors

Kitchen Manager

The Dishwasher / Cleaner supports Gospel Rescue Mission by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout kitchen areas. This role helps ensure a safe, welcoming, and sanitary environment for guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors while supporting daily meal service and kitchen operations.

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment in a timely manner
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in kitchen and dining areas
• Sweep, mop, sanitize, and maintain floors throughout assigned areas
• Empty trash and recycling containers regularly
• Refill soap, sanitizer, paper towels, and other cleaning or hygiene supplies
• Assist with kitchen closing and deep cleaning procedures when needed
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and follow sanitation guidelines
• Maintain organization of dishwashing and Kitchen tools and equipment storage areas
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when needed
• Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to leadership
• Support special events, meal service, and campus-wide cleaning projects as assigned
• Assist staff and volunteers in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
• Follow all safety, food handling, and OSHA guidelines
• Record and communicate completed tasks as directed
