Job Summary
The Custodian performs basic and routine custodial, grounds maintenance, or general laborer work.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities- Clean restrooms, basins, stools, urinals, and other sanitary facilities daily.
- Stock dispensers with paper towels, tissue and other paper products.
- Maintain outside areas by sweeping, hosing off walkways, and picking up litter.
- Vacuum and clean carpets as needed.
- Sweep and mop daily, strip old wax, apply new wax, and polish floor with electric buffer.
- Empty ashtrays and trash receptacles daily.
- Dust office desks, chairs, and reception area.
- Clean walls, windows, doors, and shelves.
- Assist in moving furniture and other equipment.
- Order supplies and equipment as authorized.
- Ensure buildings are secured before leaving.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
- Applicable tools and equipment utilized in assigned area of responsibility.
- Basic custodial, equipment, building or grounds maintenance practices.
- Safe work practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.
Custodian I:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred; no specific experience is required.
Custodian II
:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred, plus:
- Must have worked for the Tribe, as a custodian, for at least one year with no written warnings or disciplinary actions in the prior twelve (12) months.
- Must have successfully completed Blood Borne Pathogens and Universal Precautions Training.
- Must have completed HIPAA Certification Training within the last twelve (12) months.
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate floor cleaning equipment safely.
- Must demonstrate a knowledge of cleaning protocols to meet Health Facility standards.
- A valid Arizona Driver's License.
- This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends.
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in removal from this position.
