EVS Associate

Position Summary

Environmental Services Associate (Housekeeping/EVS) – Works as part of the Banner University Medical Center Tucson Environmental Services team to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

• Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policy.
• Empty hampers, transport soiled linen, empty trash and medical waste containers including sharps.
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc.) in all assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment, notify appropriate personnel for repairs, and properly log out/in equipment used.
• Execute special projects such as window washing, wall washing, removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings.
• Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors to meet or exceed customer‑service satisfaction goals.
• Work under regular supervision with responsibility limited to assigned facility/area; internal customers include facility staff, physicians, nurses, patients; external customers include visitors and employees of other facilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
• Interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
• Communicate effectively by phone and verbally.
• Read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for handling cleaning chemicals; fill out chemical identification stickers.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit required for positions in certain behavioral health or senior center settings.

Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental‑services equipment and cleaning techniques; additional related education and/or experience is also preferred.

Full‑time day shift, 7 am – 3:30 pm. Weekends, rotations, and holidays required. Sign‑on bonus: $1,000. Weekend shift differential: $1.00 per hour. Night shift differential: 18% when applicable.
