General Position

Description:

Responsible for performing general maintenance of EBF facilities to include both residential and commercial buildings by making repairs in coordination with the Facilities Management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds to work order requests as assigned by EBF Maintenance Lead, which can include but is not limited to, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry service and repair; furniture relocation and assembly; disposal of broken appliances, furniture, and other items as needed; wall repair and painting; ceiling tile and or light bulb replacement; light landscaping not covered by in-place vendor(s); mounting items on walls;

    and occasional emergency janitorial issues as needed.
  • Ensures all preventative maintenance services are completed as scheduled. Facilitates and monitors quality and progress of contracted work i.e. roofing, HVAC, etc.
  • Follows all safety requirements to operate agency equipment. Adheres to proper municipal codes, agency policies, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment for future use. Purchases equipment and supplies as instructed.
  • May respond to off-hour situations on an infrequent basis.
  • Determine facility maintenance requirements and resolve deficiencies in coordination with Facilities Manager and outside vendors, as needed.
  • Triages maintenance events with the goal of resolving issues that impact programs, facilities, and employees quickly while balancing fiscal responsibilities.
  • Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements:

    High School diploma/GED with 5 years of experience. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Current, unrestricted AZ driver's license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3 years). Three (3) years of driving experience required.
    • Transportation for daily site visits, to attend trainings, and perform other work-related activities. Organizational vehicles may not be available at all times.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).

    Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities:
    Strong organization and planning skills with ability to multi-task. Must work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to address complaints and resolve problems with a positive attitude. Ability to handle emergency/pressure sensitive situations due to complexity and time sensitivity. Ability to interpret and apply proper municipal building codes. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, floor plans, blueprints.

    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to work with limited supervision in the field. Must have skills in the use of hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance materials. Must be able to prioritize maintenance responsibilities and schedule work requests accordingly. Must be able to utilize a computer and smartphone when responding to or following up on open work requests.

    Able to establish and maintain a team atmosphere of communication and collaboration for all that reach out to the Department.
