About the Role

The Maintenance Manager provides functional leadership and direction to the maintenance team. The position reports directly to the Facility Manager and includes direct reports:
Mechanics, Welders, Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, Maintenance Planner, and Storekeeper. The role requires a proven leader who can achieve daily, yearly, and long‑term asset reliability goals through application of best practices site-wide.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a Safety Leader, ensuring safety remains a top priority in planning and execution of tasks.
  • Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel to target zero incidents and continuously improve site EHS performance.
  • Lead improvement teams, network with professional organizations, and maintain connections to regional and corporate M&R and technical groups.
  • Promote a strong safety and environmental stewardship culture and ensure maintenance & reliability practices are followed.
  • Develop, plan, and implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and increase utilization of labor and materials.
  • Recruit, select, assign, develop, coach, and evaluate performance of the maintenance team.
  • Manage maintenance shops comprising Mechanical and E&I crafts with advanced skills.
  • Plan site maintenance attrition forecasting and hiring plans.
  • Develop a 5‑year long‑term maintenance plan and maintain a metric dashboard for improvement prioritization.
  • Prepare and manage yearly and monthly maintenance budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Provide overall guidance for the Work Management Program (WMP) and support Computer Maintenance Management System and associated tools.
  • Oversee Outage Planning processes and teams to coordinate implementation shutdowns, achieving outages budgets, scopes, and schedules.
  • Drive reliability improvements, identify gaps between reliability goals and plant performance, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend improvements.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
  • 5+ years supervisor/manager experience in waste‑to‑energy, power, military, industrial, or chemical plant maintenance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s or Engineering degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies.
  • Experience managing spare parts inventory at optimum levels.
  • Strong computer skills – ALM/People Soft, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, National Electric Code, and NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in work management processes, planning & scheduling, preventive maintenance, and outages.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance practices.
  • Experience in design, repairs, maintenance, reliability, failure modes, and/or inspection of chemical process equipment.
  • Familiar with reliability tools such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
