EVS Associate

Department: Environmental Services – Hospital

Shift: Day (32 hours per week, 8‑hour shifts 8:30 am‑5 pm)

This full‑time environmental service (EVS) position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, staff areas, and common spaces to maintain a safe, hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

• Perform dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing tasks per departmental policy.
• Empty hampers, soiled linen containers, trash receptacles, and medical waste containers, including sharps.
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in all assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment, report needed repairs, and properly log equipment usage.
• Execute special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removal of heavily soiled items.
• Respond to requests from patients, staff, and visitors; meet or exceed customer‑service goals.
• Work independently and as part of the EVS team, following directions and reporting progress to supervisors.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team without constant supervision.
• Read, interpret, and respond to verbal and written instructions.
• Communicate effectively via phone and in‑person conversations.
• Read and understand material safety data sheets; correctly mix and use cleaning chemicals; fill out chemical identification stickers.

• Prior experience in environmental services, including familiarity with equipment and cleaning techniques.
• Additional related education or experience.

Estimated Pay Range: $16.00 – $24.00 per hour.
