Continuing Position
Rate of Pay: $27.98 – $30.63 per hour

This position will remain open until filled. Tumwater School District reserves the right to make a hiring decision at any time after the initial screening after 4 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026. It is in the applicant's best interest to submit materials as soon as possible.

- Custodial or janitorial work experience.
- High school graduate, preferred.
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Custodial and the building administrator: maintain buildings in a clean, attractive, and functional order; establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff; observe safety rules and regulations; maintain safe working conditions. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of custodial work.
- Punctual and dependable; maintain attendance requirements per Union/District Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Preferred experience with computer operated building systems, keyless entrance, fire, and sprinkler systems.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 100 lbs, with occasional >100 lbs with assistance.
- Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing for varying durations.
- Exposure to weather conditions, chemicals, and environmental hazards as required by duties.
Basic hand tools, stepladders, vacuum cleaners, wet vacuums, buffers, pressure washers, carpet extractors, and auto scrubbers.
