Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on a variety of high and low air compressors, grinders, chillers, water towers, and other plant support equipment. Also performs a wide variety of facilities and maintenance repair tasks beyond plant support equipment, including fixtures, structures, and grounds. Compensation $33.00-$35.10 per hour, based on skills and abilities.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties- Assists Maintenance Electrician, Plant Engineer, and the maintenance team in maintaining the overall condition of the plant facility.
- Analyzes, sets up, and maintains plant equipment and processes including, but not limited to, air compressors, dryers, and other mechanical systems, ensuring safe and continuous operation.
- Maintains compressor including systems checks verification and assists during contractor maintenance.
- Ensures water quality standards are maintained, including water testing and documentation for closed loop systems (tower and chiller water systems).
- Translates electrical schematics, troubleshoots electrical circuits, and performs general electrical repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Completes general building repairs, preventative maintenance, and projects to include lighting, plumbing, and light carpentry.
- Works with vendors, obtains quotes, assists with material handling, and provides on-site assistance for corporate and improvement projects.
- Maintains housekeeping and safe operation of all assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provides support off hours by phone or on-site.
- Completes all other tasks as assigned.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED. - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic aspects of facility support equipment.
- Prior certifications in any of the above listed key areas of maintenance helpful but not required.
