The Area Porter plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and overall appeal of Core Spaces' properties within a designated area. This position is responsible for supporting maintenance and operations teams by ensuring that all common areas, grounds, and facilities are well‑maintained, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors.
What You Will Do Property Maintenance- Perform daily cleaning and upkeep of common areas, hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, and other high‑traffic areas.
- Ensure outdoor spaces, including courtyards, parking lots, and walkways, are free of debris, trash, and hazards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or basic repairs as directed.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas, including dumpsters and trash chutes.
- Ensure trash bins are clean, organized, and properly placed.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down for property events or community activities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or tasks assigned by supervisors.
- Monitor the condition of property amenities and report any issues to the maintenance team.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally and courteously with residents and visitors.
- Address resident inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation
- This role will be carried out across multiple property locations.
- High School or equivalent education preferred
- Proficient in simple computer tasks
- One year experience in maintenance or a skilled trade
- Experience in the student housing or multi‑family industry
- Experience supporting multiple properties
