Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant equipment, pumps, motors, valves, blowers, and related systems. Conduct routine inspections of plant facilities and equipment to ensure proper operation. Monitor flow rates, chemical levels, treatment processes, and system performance through computerized control systems and manual observations. Collect wastewater samples and perform laboratory testing as required. Record operational data, maintenance activities, and laboratory results accurately and timely.

Adjust treatment processes and chemical feed systems to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment and facilities. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues requiring major repairs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Respond to alarms, emergencies, spills, equipment failures, and adverse weather conditions. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Assist with facility improvement projects and inspections by regulatory agencies. Participate in on-call rotations, shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

Education Requirements:

High Scholl Diploma or GED Level of Experience Requirements:
At least 1 year of prior experience California Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification. Grades 2-4. Possession of a CA valid driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain required wastewater treatment operator certifications. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and operational systems. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and maintain accurate records.

Knowledge of organizational procedures and workflows – understanding how work moves through a company. Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools – e.g., Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry‑standard software. Knowledge of customer service practices – principles of providing quality service and managing inquiries professionally. Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles – awareness of proper handling of sensitive information.
