Janitor

The Floor Sweeper is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly work areas throughout the facility. This position ensures floors and common areas are free of debris, dust, spills, and other hazards that could impact safety, productivity, or quality standards. The Floor Sweeper works closely with operations and maintenance teams to support a clean and efficient work environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Sweep and clean production, warehouse, and facility floors on a scheduled basis.
• Remove trash, debris, dust, scrap materials, and waste from designated areas.
• Operate manual and powered floor-cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect work areas for spills, hazards, or housekeeping issues and address them promptly.
• Empty waste containers and transport materials to designated disposal locations.
• Maintain cleanliness of walkways, workstations, break areas, and other common spaces.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and housekeeping standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Support facility-wide housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required qualifications include:

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, warehouse, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience operating industrial floor sweepers or cleaning equipment.

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments as needed.

Work environment includes:

• Manufacturing, warehouse, distribution center, or industrial facility setting.
• Exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and moving equipment.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
