Maintenance Technician II, 1st shift

Position Overview

Perform the maintenance functions necessary to design, fabricate, install, move, repair, or otherwise service a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and plant facilities.

• Install new equipment upon arrival and relocate existing equipment by unloading from trucks, moving to production location, preparing foundations, setting and leveling machinery, installing coolant, oil, and air lines, and performing general cleanup duties after project completion.
• Perform necessary repair work on all primary and secondary types of production machinery and their supportive equipment and systems.
• Repair or replace general plant facility items such as floors, ceiling tiles, heating units, or general plumbing.
• Design, layout, fabricate, and assemble special machine attachments or other equipment such as conveyor systems or part-feeding systems; work from prints or sketches and improvise procedures when specific details are not available.
• Design and install new or revised piping systems for coolant, air, oil, or hydraulic systems as required.
• Analyze and suggest corrective action in cases of mechanical malfunction on any operating equipment or accessories.
• Repair average-type electrical problems when required.
• Work with and instruct lower classification maintenance personnel for their advancement to higher classifications.
• Complete the maintenance portion of work orders after job completion; refer to electricians or supervisors as necessary.
• Follow Ethics and Safety Programs.
• Adhere to all Export, Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirements relevant to the position.
• Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs.
• Adhere to ISO 9000 Standards.

• High School Education or GED.
• At least 2 years of related maintenance experience.

• Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with the Internet.
• Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to get along with others and effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
• Additional certifications or training in maintenance-related fields.
• Experience in similar industries or roles.

• Frequent attendance to maintenance and operation of facilities and machinery throughout the plant and plant grounds.
• Mobility, balance, climbing, crawling, and ability to get into crouched positions.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds from awkward positions and heights; lift up to 100 pounds in the power zone from knees to chest with mechanical or manual lift assistance available.
