Description
Summary:
Ensures that designated Goodwill Admin and support areas are kept clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly. Executes routine cleaning, waste disposal, and fundamental facility support activities, and promptly reports safety hazards or maintenance requirements to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, which may include: sales floor/public areas, restrooms, offices, classrooms, conference/meeting rooms, break areas, sidewalks/entryways, and back-of-house spaces.
• Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures and surfaces; restock restroom supplies (e.g., soap, paper products) as needed.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or spot-clean floors; maintain carpets and hard-surface floors according to site expectations.
• Dust, wipe, and sanitize high-touch surfaces (e.g., counters, door handles, light switches) as assigned.
• Clean glass and windows (interior and/or exterior, where applicable).
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles; replace liners; transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Remove litter and debris from sidewalks, entryways, and parking lot areas as assigned.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to training and posted instructions/labels.
• Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and supply areas in a neat, organized condition; notify management when supplies are low.
• Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious conditions, damage, or facility maintenance needs to management promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED (verification required)
• At least one (1) prior custodial/janitorial experience. Ability to follow cleaning routines, safety practices, and posted instructions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to read and understand basic work instructions, safety signage, and product labels.
• Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members (verbal and written as needed).
• Ability to complete simple checklists or logs when required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time to complete assigned tasks.
• Basic math skills sufficient for counting supplies and following mixing/measurement directions when applicable.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.

Specific vision abilities necessary for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
