The Watermark Hotel seeks a General Maintenance Engineer who is enthusiastic about hands‑on work and enjoys helping others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain property assets, working with the Chief Engineer to learn preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections and capital expenditures. Understand how asset maintenance impacts the hotel’s financial success.
- Assist and respond to guests’ requests in a friendly, positive manner, providing the highest level of service. Use knowledge of the hotel property, guest room repairs and common‑area maintenance to set a strong example for other associates.
- Identify concerns and provide maintenance solutions by assessing property assets through preventive maintenance. Work with appropriate managers to recommend and implement solutions.
- Follow the company’s standard operating procedures by learning, understanding and executing all engineering SOPs in collaboration with the Chief Engineer.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to meet guest needs and contribute to other teams when necessary. Complete all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of the engineering department.
- Work safely by maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, local, state and federal regulations. Use personal protective equipment when needed and follow all procedures for guest or associate incidents. Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Manage your workload by planning, organizing and prioritizing tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer. Adhere to the company’s attendance policy, general work rules and department procedures, and attend all required meetings.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required. CPO and appliance repair certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs.
- Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred. Attention to detail, customer‑focused attitude and ability to perform duties in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical: Ability to push, pull and lift up to 100 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
