Job Overview
The Floor Technician will safely perform assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures. Duties include environmental services, waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual responsibilities as directed.
Roles & Responsibilities- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stop at risky behaviors in oneself and others.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to complete assignments.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
- Fill in during staff shortages, such as custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use required personal protective equipment.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and the environment.
- Operate and maintain motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain the daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Clean and maintain all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Observe safety precautions and use safety signs such as "wet floor".
- Work independently without normal supervision.
- Report safety hazards as appropriate.
- No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
- Complete all required safety and task training certifications.
- Forklift certification may be required.
- Read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment upkeep, and safe use of cleaning compounds and chemicals.
- Frequent sitting, talking, and listening. Must lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Work environment includes frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
$19.00 – $20.00 per hour
ShiftMonday – Friday, 5:00 pm – 1:30 am
