CLASSIFICATION:
Classified
- Read and interpret basic cleaning supplies directions and/or instructions.
- Ability to lift at least eighty (80) pounds.
- Use an eight-foot ladder to perform light custodial tasks.
- High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job GoalTo provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.
Performance Responsibilities- Keep building and premises including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times.
- Shovel and/or plow sidewalks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate.
- Check daily to ensure all exit doors are locked and all panic bolts are working properly during building occupancy hours.
- Sweep classrooms and dust furniture daily.
- Clean corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it.
- Scrub and disinfect toilets, floors, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
- Wash all windows on both the inside and outside.
- Keep the grounds free from rubbish.
- Maintain all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
- Clean all whiteboards/chalkboards daily.
- Secure all windows and doors within the area of assigned responsibility.
- Maintain confidential nature of all school-related matters.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Principal.
Twelve months. Salary set by the Board.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
Physical, Mental and Visual DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Occasionally, the employee may be required to push or lift up to 50 lbs for safety and well-being of others. The job requires the employee to read handwritten or typed materials and to meet multiple demands from several people while interacting with other staff and the public.
