Overview

As a Resort Maintenance Supervisor
, you'll be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of resort grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and utility systems at an individual property. Additionally, you supervise and oversee individual resort maintenance team members.

This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
  • Follows-up on work assignments to ensure efficient, thorough completion of assigned work orders
  • Performs water testing and other maintenance duties related to a well-water system or on-site water meters, if applicable. Ensures water samples are taken on a regular basis
  • Assists maintenance team with all aspects of property maintenance and repairs of grounds and facilities such as lawns, clubhouses, pools, streets, curbs, and gardening/landscaping
  • Assists with the selection of all contractual services. Supervises on-site contractors
  • Completes regular inspections of sites throughout the resort
  • Prioritizes and resolves resort service requests, including maintaining records of types and frequency of service requests received
  • Collaborates with Resort Manager to establish emergency maintenance on-call schedule
  • Performs duties in a safe manner, adhering to all safety procedures and properly using safety equipment
  • Assists with maintenance issues directed
  • Maintains vehicle/equipment maintenance logs and ensures proper maintenance of resort vehicles
  • Coordinates and ensures completion of routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs
  • Ensures safe storage of hazardous chemicals and/or equipment
  • Prepares all maintenance-related logs in accordance with the Operations Manual
  • Reviews exterior improvement and tree maintenance/removal requests
  • Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies. Purchases equipment, supplies, and services as needed with Resort Manager approval, ensuring to adhere to budget guidelines
  • Meets with Resort Manager daily to report on the status of all scheduled maintenance work; notifies manager of unsightly or hazardous conditions and recommended solutions
  • Issues rule reminders and violation notices and follows-up as needed
  • Assists Resort Manager with aspects of the capital expenditure program, including reviewing budget variances as needed
Job Qualifications
  • 3 years experience with general maintenance techniques, repair work, and grounds
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, pool and grounds maintenance
  • Proficient in operating various hand tools and power equipment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet
  • Ability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
