Overview

Job Purpose: Oversee and manage all aspects of the maintenance team and upkeep of plant machinery and equipment. Work closely with production to identify maintenance needs and ensure the lines are running 24/7. Ability to use high judgement and expertise in maintenance demand and ongoing preventive maintenance needs. Keep and maintain all QC and PM maintenance records that are applicable to department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight, leadership and training for Maintenance Department
  • Managing all Plant fabrication for equipment and Continuous Improvement.
  • Directing the maintenance and repairs to the Plant Processing Equipment.
  • Insuring maximum system efficiencies for cost and energy savings.
  • Manage plant ammonia system, regulatory compliance, alarms and repairs.
  • Maintaining operational safety standards for equipment.
  • Develops preventative maintenance programs for equipment and machinery and recommends pathways to improve equipment performance.
  • Arranges and manages appropriate third-party vendor support as needed.
  • Prepares budgets and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed
  • Creates and enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Ownership of maintenance Goals/Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Employee training (Technical and Safety) Researches and implements World Class maintenance practices to keep Casper’s equipment working in optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers
  • Provide effective solutions to technical problems using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
  • Manage highly skilled Maintenance team including hiring, appraising and ensuring timely development of technical skills.
  • Ability to use electronic maintenance work order system to review work requests, identify required stock and non-stock materials, ensure availability, performs review of work orders to verify completion, and maintain departmental KPI's.
  • Participation in daily activities to understand requirements and issues.
  • Coordination with venders to determine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the procurement and installation of new equipment.
  • Coaches, counsels and manages performance of direct reports.
  • Support corporate goals and objectives within department by setting team goals in line with each corporate goal and clearly communicating targets
  • Communication, implementation and enforcement of all company policies.
  • Support positive culture amongst team to increase employee satisfaction/morale.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Solid Computer / System skill set is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Prior supervisory/leadership experience and/or demonstrated leadership skills is required.
  • Five years’ experience in Leadership position or equivalent.
  • Prior mechanical, electrical and/or maintenance troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Prior experience with predictive/preventative maintenance programs, inventory and capital project planning is highly preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively is required.

Work Schedule

Variable depending upon need. Typically, 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Friday
- Sunday and 8:00am-11:00am Monday. This position will require occasional weekends and holidays for completing maintenance during production shut-downs. On-call availability may be required in the event of a major equipment breakdown, and to fulfill supervisory duties.

Physical Demands
  • Extensive walking and prolonged standing; must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Major joint dexterity:
    Ability to bend at the waist and knees, squat, kneel, reach and work overhead for extended periods
  • Trunk Strength: extensive use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support body while working
  • Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs
  • Manual Grip Strength: ability to grasp, squeeze, and hold objects forcibly for extended periods
  • Fine Manual dexterity: ability to use arms, wrists, and hands to grasp, manipulate, assemble and disassemble equipment
  • May be exposed to allergens including mold, as well as ingredient dust from food allergens including peanut and tree nuts
  • Work locations will include warehouses and manufacturing process rooms, which include high levels of noise and moving equipment.
  • May be required to work inside and outside
  • Will work primarily in room temperature; temperatures inside the plant will vary between 80°+ and humid to
    -20° depending on location
