This hybrid role is designed for someone who takes pride in the "behind-the-scenes" work that makes a campus feel like home. You will split your time equally between skilled maintenance repairs and high-standard custodial care, ensuring our student living spaces are safe, functional, and pristine.
Qualifications- Associate's degree or any combination of education and/or experience in construction or custodial work totaling 2-years.
- Know the State, County and ADA codes.
- Know the policies of Snow College.
- Ability to work shifts and Saturdays in the Summer.
- Perform routine maintenance including minor plumbing (unclogging drains, fixing leaks), electrical (replacing light fixtures/ballasts), and carpentry (repairing furniture, doors, or cabinetry).
- Prep and apply/pour concrete, stucco, sheet rock, all types of leveling products. Will inspect and repair all di?erent types of roof systems.
- Diagnose and repair minor issues with resident appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, laundry units).
- Work with County, State ADA codes on remodeling housing units/areas.
- Have the knowledge to read and understand blueprints and interpret maps.
- Maintain, repair and know the proper use of tools and equipment. Take orally and written direction.
- Have the skills to use or operate all types of hand and power tools.
- Work with other departments on campus.
- Execute "make-ready" tasks such as drywall patching, sanding, and painting during peak move-in/move-out seasons.
- Ability to climb ladders, frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and standing for long periods of time.
- Be able to lift 50-90 LBS.
- Be able to organize your time.
- Communicates on a daily basis with Housing Maintenance Manager.
- Performs routine manual labor associated with daily cleanup of the Suites at Academy Square and other On Campus Resident Buildings.
- Performs general custodial and maintenance duties as needed, including but not limited to, cleaning restrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms, trash removal, cleaning carpets, furniture, waxing floors, and snow removal.
- Deep Cleaning:
Maintain common areas, hallways, lounges, and shared restrooms to the highest sanitary standards. - Floor Care:
Operate industrial equipment for vacuuming, mopping, waxing, and carpet extraction. - Waste Management:
Manage daily trash removal throughout the residential facilities. - Emergency Response:
Provide immediate cleanup for spills, leaks, or biohazard incidents as needed. - Helps supervise student workers and summer cleaning crew.
- Communicates on a daily basis with the Housing Custodial Lead.
