Under the supervision of the Engineering Supervisor, the groundskeeper assumes responsibility and accountability for performing all outdoor clean-up and service functions at both hospital and hospital owned properties. Work performed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Flexible working hours and winter on-call are required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to keep lawns and landscape in good condition by routine cutting of grass
• Nurture all flowers and shrubs with associated projects
• Complete annual mulching and weeding
• Complete assigned rounds when required
• Perform snow removal when required
• Perform salting/sanding as required with special attention given to building entrances
• Provide service for moving equipment and/or materials throughout network
• Monitor fuel storage of gas & diesel used by network vehicles
• Keep equipment and vehicles clean and presentable
• Perform semi-skilled Carpentry & Painting work
• Perform parking lot striping and curb painting when required
• Perform other duties as required

Education/Experience Requirements:

  Valid New York State driver's license
