Position:Maintenance Worker I/II – Parks
There is currently one (1) vacancy in the Public Works Department. This recruitment will also serve to establish an eligibility list for possible future use over the next 12-month period.
Salary InformationMaintenance Worker I: $63,319 – $66,485 annually.
Maintenance Worker II: $68,121 – $82,803 annually.
A 2% COLA is scheduled for 11/1/2026.

- Performs routine maintenance of restrooms

- Operates spray units for spraying lawns and trees

Ideal Candidate- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively across all City departments and with all levels of employees
- Understanding of methods, tools, materials and equipment used in landscape maintenance
- Ability to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled construction tasks
- Familiarity with operation of a variety of power tools and landscape equipment
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of the workday
- Knowledge of municipal irrigation systems
- Education:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade - Experience:
One (1) year of experience in construction and maintenance work. Experience working in public works is desirable
- Education:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade - Experience:
Two years of experience in public works general construction, maintenance and repair work, including the operation of some power-driven equipment - License:
Possession of a Qualified Applicators Certificate from State of California Department of Pesticide Regulation is required - Additional Requirements:
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
