Position Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of Blue Ops facilities in Valdosta Georgia to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment across office, production, R & D, storage spaces and outside space. This role oversees facility operations, expansion projects, contractor relationships, regulatory compliance, and ongoing preventive maintenance programs. The Facilities Manager plays a critical role in supporting the company's rapid growth and operational needs in a high-tech, unmanned surface vessels manufacturing setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the company’s physical facilities, including offices, storage facilities, production areas and outdoor spaces.
  • Coordinate facility build-outs, layout planning, expansions, and equipment installations to support scaling operations.
  • Oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and other critical building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA-related facility work spaces, fire codes, environmental regulations, and local building standards.
  • Manage Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance and Planning
    • Develop and enforce safety protocols on the production floor.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct training on workplace hazards and safe practices.
    • Develop and enforce safety protocols on the production floor.
    • Manage environmental impact, waste handling, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
    • Manage facility compliance with any federal, state or local environmental laws and regulations and coordinate with outside environmental firm
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships, including contracts for janitorial, maintenance, and utilities services.
  • Plan and administer facility budgets, tracking costs and identifying savings opportunities.
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules for building infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with EHS, IT, production, and engineering to support evolving operational and safety needs.
  • Respond to and manage facility-related emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Support space planning, ergonomics, and infrastructure upgrades that improve safety and employee experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing contractors, maintenance teams, and facility upgrade projects.
  • At least 2 years experience managing facilities or EHS in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, industrial safety requirements, and facility compliance standards.
  • Proficient in facility management software, vendor coordination, and budget planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills; ability to prioritize across multiple sites and competing needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Background in boat building and/or fiberglass and/or composites fabrication
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and production space optimization.
  • Understanding of ITAR/EAR facility security requirements and access control practices for defense related manufacturing.
  • Certifications:

    Preferred: OSHA 30, Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to walk throughout large indoor and outdoor facilities regularly.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in environments requiring safety PPE.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects.
  • May involve exposure to dust, noise, and manufacturing equipment
