Responsibilities
  • Promote safety and prioritize safety throughout the operation for yourself and others in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Repair, maintain, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
  • Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors and perform repairs when necessary.
  • Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.
  • Document and record information accurately on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment, entering and maintaining service reports in written or electronic form.
  • Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant when necessary to ensure production continues efficiently.
  • Perform general physical activities that require moving the whole body and considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
  • Flexibility: willingness to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands; ability to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
  • Mechanical skills: some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Salary & Benefits
  • The salary is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates will be placed according to union contract salary scale at $49.72 per hour.
  • Full benefits package including health insurance, a pension plan, paid vacation.
  • This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
