About Lux Cafe & Lounge
Lux Cafe & Lounge is a European-inspired cafe & lounge where refined hospitality meets modern American warmth from morning espresso and delicate pastries to elevated dinners, premium cocktails, and a curated wine & champagne experience.. We are building an opening team with high standards and are looking for a polished, hands-on General Manager who understands luxury service, strong systems, and how to lead a team that performs consistently.
This role is ideal for a leader with experience in fine dining / upscale lounge / high-volume premium hospitality who can elevate service, protect the brand, and drive results.
The Role
As General Manager, you will own the guest experience and daily execution end-to-end: people, standards, pace, ambiance, profitability, and accountability. You ll partner closely with ownership and culinary leadership to set the tone and build a culture of professionalism, hospitality, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Culture
Hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performing FOH team (hosts, servers, bartenders, baristas, support staff)
Lead by example on the floor: calm, confident, visible leadership during peak periods
Create a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement
Build training systems: steps of service, standards of appearance, guest engagement, upselling, and teamwork
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Deliver a consistent luxury guest experience: greeting, pacing, table touches, problem resolution, farewell
Maintain fine dining details: table presentation, timing, language, service choreography, and standards
Handle guest recovery with discretion and professionalism; protect the brand in every interaction
Ensure lounge atmosphere is executed correctly: music/volume, lighting, cleanliness, bar presentation, energy
Operations & Systems
Oversee daily opening/closing procedures, sidework, station readiness, inventory par levels, and checklists
Own reservations/waitlist flow and table management to maximize turns without compromising experience
Manage cash handling, deposits, comps/voids, and daily/weekly reporting with strong controls
Coordinate vendors and purchasing for FOH needs; maintain organization and cost discipline
Beverage & Sales Performance
Drive excellence in bar execution: speed, accuracy, presentation, premium spirit knowledge
Support wine/champagne and cocktail program standards, upselling culture, and menu knowledge
Lead by coaching: average check growth, guided selling, suggestive pairings, and guest education
Track and improve KPIs: sales, labor %, comps/voids, guest feedback, speed of service, bar performance
Scheduling, Labor & Profitability
Build smart schedules that balance labor control with premium service coverage
Forecast staffing needs for peak service times and special events
Monitor labor %, productivity, and operational efficiency without sacrificing standards
Compliance & Professional Standards
Ensure compliance with health/safety regulations and alcohol service requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, inspection-ready operation at all times
Uphold company policies and professional conduct standards
Qualifications
5+ years in upscale hospitality leadership; GM/AGM experience strongly preferred
Proven experience in fine dining, upscale lounge, or premium full-service concepts
Strong beverage knowledge (cocktails, spirits, wine/champagne service) is a major plus
Exceptional guest-facing presence: polished, confident, professional communication
Strong people leadership: training, coaching, accountability, and conflict resolution
Operational discipline: checklists, controls, scheduling, and reporting
Comfortable with POS systems and performance reporting (
Spot On is a plus
)Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high standards and high expectations
Alcohol certification preferred ( or willingness to obtain
Bilingual (English + Russian/Ukrainian) is a plus, not required
What Success Looks Like (First 60 90 Days)
Build and stabilize FOH team staffing and training program
Implement service standards that feel luxury, not forced consistent pacing and details
Establish strong daily systems: readiness, cleanliness, cash controls, reports
Improve guest feedback and create repeat guests through memorable hospitality
Hit labor and performance targets while keeping premium service quality
