Maintenance Technician (Healthcare Facility)

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and punctual Maintenance Technician to support our healthcare facility in Vandalia, OH. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, working knowledge of life safety regulations, and the ability to independently manage maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and facility inspections

  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems

  • Maintain compliance with Life Safety Code standards and regulatory requirements

  • Complete preventative maintenance and accurately document all work performed

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues

  • Utilize maintenance tracking systems (e.g., TELS) and basic computer programs to manage work orders

  • Assist with state surveys, inspections, and corrective actions

  • Ensure proper function and documentation of fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency lighting, and generator systems

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance experience required (healthcare or long-term care preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Life Safety Code and healthcare compliance standards strongly preferred

  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Must be punctual and reliable

  • Basic computer skills required (work orders, documentation, tracking systems)

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting

  • Familiarity with NFPA standards and Life Safety surveys

  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and compliance documentation
