Job DescriptionIntelligent Controls & Automation (ICA) Technician – Work in Automation for P&G – one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers (2026).
We are looking to fill a future vacancy for an Intelligent Controls & Automation (ICA) Technician to join our team in Brantford, Ontario at the Greater Toronto Fulfillment Centre (GTFC). This is an on‑shift role that may require early morning, evening, and overnight shift work.
Responsibilities- Participate in initiatives to identify and eliminate inefficiencies within technology zones
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert, guiding the development and deployment of proven operational standards
- Schedule and lead training sessions to enhance team capabilities, on‑site and off‑site
- Drive loss elimination and change‑management projects
- Support escalation efforts for chronic losses and work collaboratively with the team to build continuous improvement practices
- Engage in technical projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall plant performance
Able to work 12‑hour shifts with a bi‑weekly rotation schedule. Shifts are assigned depending on business need. Day shift: 6:00 am–6:30 pm. Night shift: 6:00 pm–6:30 am.
Overtime may be required on weekends and/or holidays.

- 1–3 years of experience in a relevant technical field
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree/certification in electrical or electrical engineering or a related field is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work as a good team player
- Strong problem‑solving skills – ability to identify and resolve issues/conflicts effectively
- Strong communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and wear required personal protective equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, HMI systems, and process control
- Able to read and use electrical schematics and single‑line drawings
- Applied electrical and controls skills in an industrial environment
- Proficiency in understanding and maintaining operational standards, ensuring they are documented and followed
- Maintain accurate records and data
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical capabilities
- Lift, lower, carry, push & pull objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to flex, extend, and rotate neck
- Ability to work at heights & climb stairs/ladders/platforms, etc., on and around equipment.
- Stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time; surface: concrete, gravel, asphalt (uneven surfaces), and equipment.
- Twist bend at the knees, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach.
- Meet the requirements of safe operation and personal safety, including wearing PPE and responding to alarms and signals.
- Operate a computer and keyboard to input and access data, and phone as well as scanners and electronic interfaces.
- Enter and work in enclosed areas.
- Work in extreme temperatures both hot and cold, generally in warehouse conditions with large temperature variations, dust and dirt.
- Know terminology and functions of machine components.
- Meet the requirements of Quality/Good Manufacturing Practices/Good Lab Practices, following applicable gowning/de‑gowning when working in the lab.
- Position & move cases of product, bottles, connect hoses, handle glass flasks and bottles, etc. (may include grasping).
- Work around strong odor of perfume or wear appropriate PPE to eliminate the odor.
