Our client, in Fairfax VT is seeking a maintenance coordinator to join their team. As a maintenance coordinator you will organize and carry out tasks related to maintenance activities for the whole plant. Position is responsible for activities related to the maintenance of equipment and building (mini-projects, equipment changes, preventive maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs, technical support etc.).

Fairfax VTPay Range: 65k - 90k Responsibilities:
- Manages parts inventory and re-orders as necessary.
- Develop and update processes related to maintenance work orders in the MaintainX software program.
- Performs repairs following service calls.
- Coordinates, with the supervisors, necessary repairs of equipment or within the building, to minimize loss of production time.
- Coordinates with his superior and the person responsible for the department concerned, mini assignments, to minimize loss of production time and the impact on other departments.
- Ensures coordination, for major repairs and projects, with the Production Supervisor.
- Performs necessary follow-up with suppliers and contractors to minimize delays.
- Ensures our contractor and suppliers follow our policies on hygiene and safety.
- Follows the policy of color-coded containers.
- Ensure monitoring of data entry related to new equipment in the preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure monitoring and execution of tasks scheduled as per preventive maintenance program.
- Records all service requests in the maintenance program file.
- Follows up on service requests assigned to the preventive maintenance program file, in order of priorities.
- Completes facilities maintenance, as needed.
- Ensures solutions to recurring problems.
- Ensures appropriate follow-up when working on equipment to avoid risk of product contamination.
- Seeking solutions to reduce the loss of raw materials and packaging.
- Communicates to Production Supervisor any suggestions for improving effectiveness, quality or safety.
- Targets a substitute to take his place when absent.
- Ensures training is completed and thorough for newly hired personnel.
- Supports and helps implement continuous process improvements.
- Completes other tasks, as assigned, within the scope of responsibility.
- Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or related field; AND
- 2 years of experience in a similar position; OR
- An equivalent of education and experience; AND
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (word processing software and databases); AND
- Knowledge of food industry, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Quality Control
