Job Summary:

The Lift Operations Foreperson takes daily ownership of a specific lift and assists Lift Operators with proper, efficient, and courteous loading and unloading of our guests. They are responsible for inspecting, recording, and reporting the condition of all lift machinery daily to Lift Operations Team Leader and Supervisors, as well as Dispatch. This position is also responsible for providing maximum ticket security by ensuring each boarding skier/snowboarder has a valid pass product and helps maintain proper and efficient levels of snow throughout the entire lift station.

To understand and promote KPSRP products and services and at times assist Lift Operations Team Leaders with the training of Operators.

Summary of

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the daily inspection and safe operation of a specific gondola or chairlift
  • Responsible for the opening procedures, daily operations and closing procedures with the assistance of Lift Operators
  • Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of guests
  • Knowledgeably and efficiently administer emergency procedures including lift breakdowns, evacuation, fire, and accident reporting. Communicate to guests, when appropriate, the status of a lift breakdown
  • Provide and maintain a safe and presentable lift area by maintaining snow/ice buildup, removing trash and litter, and keeping low clearance/portal areas marked and visible
  • Using the tools provided, assist Lift Operators remove excess snow/ice from lift areas including but limited to the load/unload areas, maze, and low clearance/portal areas
  • Provide an active and efficient flow of guests through the maze
  • Ensure ticket security by monitoring RFID gate access for validation of passes
  • Excellent ongoing guest service
  • Communicate and make quick decisions and be a source of knowledgeable information in dealing with guest needs or questions as they arise
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have 1-2 years of Lift Operations experience (Fixed, Detach, and Surface Lifts)
  • Must have a form reliable transportation which includes the bus
  • Must be able to adhere to early morning starting times
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or push up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the day
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Excellent attitude, self-motivating
  • Ability to work independently and at times with little supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to handle emergency situations effectively
  • Superior guest service experience
  • Excellent language skills and reasoning ability
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Intermediate Ski/Ride ability preferred
