SUMMARY

The Snowmaker II has all of the responsibilities and qualifications of the Snowmaker I with the distinction that the Snowmaker II is fully trained and has demonstrated proficiency in all of the essential duties and responsibilities that were learned as a Snowmaker I. The Snowmaker II will be self-reliant and is responsible for his or her own welfare during snow making operations.

The Snowmaker II will on occasion be asked by the Shift Lead to assist in training Snowmaker I’s.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reads, understand, and applies techniques found in the Jay Peak Snow making Operations and Safety Manual.
  • Is proficient in safe fire-up, operation, adjustment, and shut-down of all types of snow guns, and high pressure hoses and hydrants associated with them.
  • Understands and can refer clearly to the location, safe actuation, and manipulation of pipeline distribution valves in their respective on-mountain valve stations.
  • Understands the geography and trail/place names for all snow making related locations.
  • Expects to work 12 hour shifts as scheduled by Snow making Shift Lead.
  • Is self-reliant for unknown periods of time in harsh winter conditions, on extreme terrain, and perform tasks in these conditions.
  • Is proficient in the safe use of ATV’s and Snowmobiles in mountainous conditions.
  • Is proficient in all aspects of pump house and compressor operations, including overall understanding of how to read, interpret and communicate reading of the control system with the crew in the field as well as how to make adjustments to the equipment in the pump house based on the readings of the control system.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has only basic supervisory responsibilities for Snowmaker I’s at the request of and under the direction of the Shift Lead.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Snowmaker II must have a minimum of two years experience as a Snowmaker I.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
