SUMMARY

The Terrain Park Groomer constructs and maintains a progressive and fun terrain park experience at Jay Peak Resort while performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
  • Assists with feature construction projects and special event builds.
  • Responsible for the grooming maintenance of terrain parks and terrain-based teaching areas.
  • Works directly with other park and fleet groomers as a team to accomplish daily goals and operations.
  • Follows written and oral instructions, including communication with other departments.
  • Reads instruments and recognizes mechanical issues in snow cats.
  • Identifies obstacles and hazards in all types of terrain.
  • Manages time efficiently during shifts to make sure all tasks and projects are completed.
  • Adheres to all department policies as well as health and safety protocols.
  • Has flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Performs safe transportation of rails and other terrain park features.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-3 years Terrain Park grooming experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
