For a full listing of employee perks both on and off-property, SUMMARY The purpose of the Terrain Park Ranger is to act as a key member of the operations community at Jay Peak which helps shape the future of our Terrain Parks by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Daily raking and maintaining features throughout the parks.

Riding the features and talking with guests.

Daily set-up and take-down of fencing.

Responding to incidents in the Terrain Parks where you will work closely with Patrol in keeping guests safe.

May be asked to help with fabrication projects and provide input on building the parks.

Promoting a culture of “bring what you learn in the park to what you do in the woods and upper mountain”.Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE No prior experience or training necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS Basic computer skills are required.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES Must be an advanced skier or snowboarder.
