Custodial Maintenance Position

Nestled in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, the Town of St. Johnsbury is a destination for outdoor recreation, including mountain biking, hiking, and skiing. Downtown St. Johnsbury boasts a revitalized downtown, a leading independent private school, a variety of cultural arts, and a range of dining options. The Town of St. Johnsbury serves a community of approximately 7,500 residents and a vast number of visitors.

The Town of St. Johnsbury is currently accepting applications for the full-time Custodial Maintenance position. This position is responsible for performing daily cleaning duties for Town facilities, addressing building repairs, and maintaining Town facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, painting, cleaning, shoveling, trash removal, mowing, and beautification. This position will also be responsible for overseeing maintenance contracts for mechanical operations, such as HVAC systems.

Applicants should have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, the ability to multitask, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a criminal background check.
