UCC Maintenance Technician I - Housekeeping

Full‑time position in the Housekeeping and Maintenance department. Responsibilities include comprehensive facility cleaning, minor technical maintenance, and event support.

• Perform heavy custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, carpet shampooing, floor stripping and waxing, deep cleaning restrooms before, during, and after events.
• Manage inventory, safely operate specialized cleaning machinery, and oversee temporary staff for quality control.
• Support event logistics: set up convention spaces, clean commercial kitchen equipment, operate HVAC, lighting and plumbing systems.
• Troubleshoot network‑connected IP devices (printers, phones), manage security and fire alarm systems, conduct facility lockdown checks, assist the public.
• Seasonal/outdoor duties: general landscaping, sprinkler maintenance, operate ATV for weed control.
• Use ladders and work at heights; basic computer skills; flexible schedule (nights, weekends).

• High school diploma or GED equivalent plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance and custodial fields.
• Equivalent education and experience combination that provides necessary skills considered.
• Availability to respond to 24‑hour emergency call‑outs.
