Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, FL is a regionally producing theatre affiliated with Actor's Equity Association, The League of Resident Theatres, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and United Scenic Artists. Riverside Children's Theatre, the educational arm of Riverside, offers classes, camps, and training opportunities in the areas of theatre, dance, music, and video for all ages on a year round basis.
The Facilities Assistant, working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, maintains the cleanliness and general public safety of the building and grounds, performs routine building and equipment maintenance tasks, and provides assistance with event setups.
Hours10-20 hours per week, occasionally less
Nights, weekends, and Thursday morning availability required
Additional hours may be scheduled during season’s peak times and events
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities- Clean and maintain Riverside Theatre, surrounding grounds, and equipment as directed by Facilities Manager.
- Complete tasks in adherence to time deadlines for daily operations and scheduled shows.
- Assist in set up and tear down of seating and platforms for Theatre productions and events.
- Report the need to reorder of disposable maintenance supplies.
- Look for and correct any conditions that affect public safety.
- Report all safety concerns, and equipment or structural failures to Facilities Manager.
- Ensure that all chemicals and hazardous objects are stored/locked out of the reach of children.
- Attend and participate in meetings as needed.
- Uphold the Core Values of Riverside Theatre.
- Clean all areas of the facility as assigned.
- Ensure that building is secure during non-business hours.
- Set up/take down as required for events and meetings.
- Assure the safety of the general public, staff, and children by correcting unsafe conditions and advising the Facilities Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with custodial maintenance, cleaning procedures, and janitorial equipment.
- Ability to follow prescribed schedule and complete work on time.
- Familiarity with general safety principles.
- Knowledgeable in the use of hand tools, ladders, and power lifts.
- Able to perform light to medium lifting and to climb ladders.
- Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00
